So a couple of days after I read this I saw a sign in our mall parking lot for 17 mph. Very strange.

It's the entrance going to our parking deck, so I guess it's private. I've heard that about those kinds of stop signs though!

Is this a public or private ramp? Signs that look legal are usually slightly smaller. They arent law. Notice small ass stop signs by drive throughs.. they are smaller because they arent the law.. but want people to believe that to avoid wrecks.

Maybe the state gets discounts on irregular signs---you know the screw ups. Or it could have ben that the local jailbird who painted it ( i know the don't really do so) didn't know his numbers.

This reminds me of a sign I see often around here that says 24mph. Huh??? Is that extra 1mph going to cause mayhem? Couldn't they have decided on a nice round number either way and rounded it up or down to the nearest five? Things like this keep me up at night.
