adam.riggins: Amazon or iTunes - I prefer Amazon

I really wish I didn't recognize the Chris Rock reference. Just to make sure I have the correct one though, it's from 'Bring the Pain", right?

Anyway, I LOVE the Amazon MP3 store. It's not just because I never cared for iTunes (hate DRM, don't have an iPod, etc.), but I really like the Amazon MP3 store on its own merits.

I had just typed up a comment about how I haven't received any album art with any of the full albums I've downloaded from Amazon...but then it hit me that they might be stored directly in the MP3 file. (I've been using Foobar2000 to play my music at work lately, and I don't currently have it configured to display album art). So I opened it in Winamp, and sure enough, there's the album art embedded in each MP3 file. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!

Yep, Bring the Pain. That is one of the funniest stand-up performances I have ever heard.

I'm glad you found it embedded. It is nice to be able to see the artwork while you listen to it. I am hoping that Amazon will be so successful that iTunes can match the awesomeness and even surpass it. Competition does that kind of thing!

So does iTunes still have a lot of songs with DRM? If so, is that all stuff that's not available on Amazon, or are there some songs on both that are only DRM free from Amazon?

Yeah, I have noticed that sometimes, iTunes will have a DRM'd song (or album), and Amazon will have the same music without the DRM. That is a no-brainer to me. It seems that if Amazon can offer it with no DRM, iTunes should be able to as well.

I just bought an iPod for a mere $9 the other day. So ya, I'm sticking with iTunes! :-)

@Steph - That is the beauty of the Amazon store- you can put the songs you buy from it on your iPod. It even imports the songs into itunes!

crap...I didn't get the Chris Rock reference. I was hoping it would be something plain-as-day such as...

"White people (dance/drive/sing) like this. Black people (dance/drive/sing) like this."
