I used to think that the look was unacceptable, but then I thought about it, and with a nice pair of sneaks, and jeans can look very cool, casual, and hip. Good for hanging out and going to the movies! Sandy

First off, the man in the picture looks dorky. He needs to decide between the t-shirt of the wife-beater looking shirt, but not both together.

Running shoes are fine with jeans, dark or light colored ones. In fact, any kind of shoe apparel on the feet is a welcome sight down here in the deep south.

I think it's alright as long as they are EXTREMELY BRIGHT WHITE and you are wearing tapered leg black jeans or elastic waist tapered leg blue jeans.

Uh... That's what I wear, like all the time. Running shoes are comfortable as are jeans. Of course, being a grad student, I'm barely considered an adult (or even a person) to begin with. ;)

I am trying to figure out when those 1-9 rules DON'T apply. They seem to have everything covered except for weddings and funerals.

I don't even own light colored jeans.
