    MY issue with these situations are usually the same. What a person does is his/her own business. Where I personally draw the line is when someone looks me (or the camera) in the face and basically insults everyone who has the audacity to even ask such a question because there is no possibility of it being true.

    @MTAE - yeah, I agree. I think that in some situations, you can be so far lost in a lie that it almost becomes true to you, and getting caught is the only thing that would ever make you confess.

    This is a really great post. (If you've seen Dark Knight, you might want to weigh in on my current blog post because I touch on a similar topic...)

    Do you know if Edwards came clean to his wife before or after the media found out? If it was after, I'd question the sincerity of his request for forgiveness (only because I think all politicians are liars, lol.)

    But going back to your theme... None of us are sinless. It's like Jesus saying, "He who is without sin, cast the first stone." If someone repents and asks forgiveness, we have to forgive them. There is no other option!

    I won't touch on the people who never think they did something wrong or who hurt people with no regret or remorse... That's a completely different scenario.

    I'm not sure if he came clean before or after, but even it was afterward, I still think it could be sincere. Like I said in my last comment, sometimes it takes that to make you realize just how deep you're in it.

    And, I agree about those who have no regret or remorse. Those are the ones that need the truth the most!
