Some people tend to update WAY too much, but I don't want to befriend them. I'm glad you mentioned the "is now following you" problem, as that would be enough to detract me (not that I even have anybody to use this on anyway).  I would love it if Twitter would develop an option for me to consolidate the tweets of certain people I follow and chose how often I get a summary tweet.
